Turner County Schools participate in the Georgia Student Assessment Program. The purpose of this program is to measure student achievement of the state mandated curriculum, to identify students failing to achieve mastery of content, to provide teachers with diagnostic information, and to assist the school system in identifying strengths and weaknesses in order to establish priorities in planning educational programs.
The assessment program includes customized criterion-referenced tests at the elementary (CRCT), middle (CRCT), and high school (EOCT, GHSGT) levels; the National Assessment of Educational Progress in grades 4, 8, and 12; 3rd, 5th, 8th, and 11th grade writing assessments; Access Test for English Language Learners, and an optional norm-referenced test.
Turner County Schools has a test security plan in place. This plan includes testing protocols for prior to testing, during testing and after testing to increase test security. All administrators, teachers, and test monitors receive training and updates for each test administration to ensure that all stakeholders involved with testing receive the same procedures and protocols. Any testing violations are reported to the school/system test coordinator, superintendent and the state department of education.
If you would like additional information on test security, please contact the testing coordinator, Zetta Daniels, at (229) 567-3338.
